Canvas work is often referred to as Tapestry (after the type of wool used) but a tapestry is woven on a loom rather than stitched, however canvas work does usually covers the evenweave canvas background with stitches and can appear woven. Most common stitches are tent stitch or cross stitch but a variety of stitches can be used. For threads we suggest you go to the Appleton's Wool page to see our full range
